The Ukulele is a small four-stringed instrument of Portuguese origin and was brought from the island of Madeira to Hawaii.

The Ukulele deriving its name from the Hawaiian word for “leaping flea.”

Many famous people have played Ukulele including

George Harrison from the Beatles collected hundreds of ukuleles and was often seen strumming them or giving them away to friends.

Neil Armstrong loved to play the ukulele after visiting the moon he spent several weeks in quarantine as scientists at the time feared he may have picked up strange bacteria while in space. He spent much of this time in quarantine strumming his uke.
