Is also known as a Murrumbidgee River Rattler, was a bushman’s improvised percussive musical instrument and was introduced by members of the British Army military bands who played an instrument called a jingling Johnny.

To hear it’s sound press play below

It’s an instrument that can be made with a broom handle or a small branch of a tree which you play with a serrated stick called the rattle stick or rattler, which is used to strike or bow the lagerphone, while tapping it on the floor.

It’s a good idea to put a rubber stopper on the end, which will bounce on the floor to stop damage.
